Camp Jack's Veteran's Day Observance Simpler This Year

Camp Jack's Veteran's Day observance will run simpler this year, according to Callie Mondy.

Mondy and volunteer Jim Robb from Camp Jack appeared Tuesday on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to talk about that and more. Mondy explained that's because of issues with the organization's building project and moving a lot. She discussed one way people can help prep for Veteran's Day.

The group still needs help putting flags out on Nov. 11 around 7 a.m. Flags will stand around the square. They need to come down at 3 p.m. The big ceremony will commence at Creekside Community Center.

Mondy said that will happen at 11 a.m. She added that Robb will receive an award along with the selected Veteran of the Year. Robb is Volunteer of the Year.

Robb told part of his story. He served in the U.S. Air Force while Ronald Reagan was president. He came to Harrison in 1990.

Mondy said he is a "core volunteer" who helped bring Camp Jack to its current state. Additional information on the Veteran's Day observance will come out on the Camp Jack Facebook Page. More was discussed during the broadcast.

The full interview with Mondy and Robb is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
