The release below is from College of the Ozarks Sports Information followed by an interview with C of O Sports Information Director Charlie Pentecost for Ozarks Now:
The College of the Ozarks is set to host the 2025 Dolly Parton’s Stampede National Christian College Athletic Association Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship Tournament this week at Keeter Gymnasium. Eith teams from across the country will converge on Point Lookout to seek the 2025 championship.
Teams from Indiana, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Kansas, Ohio, and Missouri will arrive Monday and participate in practice sessions and a Christian Service Project on Tuesday. The College of the Ozarks and the NCCAA have partnered with Convoy of Hope to provide an opportunity for the teams to pack groceries and non-perishable items for families in need. All of the bags packed, totaling 2000 at last year’s championship, will remain in the local area for distribution. Following the practices and service project, the teams will attend the opening banquet and show at Dolly Parton’s Stampede.
Pool play matches will begin at 9 am on Wednesday and Thursday with six matches each day. The semifinals will be played Friday at 3:00 and 6:00 with the championship match slated for 1 pm on Saturday. “This will be a great week of highly competitive volleyball.” Commented College of the Ozarks Sports Information Director, Charlie Pentecost. “With talented teams coming from various parts of the country, we are looking forward to several days of exciting matches in Ketter Gym.”
