The Branson Police Department has gone to social media to quiet a rumor started by another post claiming a serial killer was on the run in the Branson area.
The Branson PD Facebook post on Wednesday copied the fake post that had been circulating claiming that a man had attacked a woman and stolen a car from another.
The Police state that no such incidents have been reported to the department.
The post finishes by encouraging the public to rely on official sources for accurate information.
