Additional charges have been filed against a Boone County man who was recently charged with video voyeurism.
According to the probable cause affidavit, 37-year-old William A Tollett, has additionally been charged with sexually grooming a child, sexual indecency with a child, and distributing, possessing, or viewing of matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child.
During the initial criminal investigation of Tollett’s video voyeurism charges, a personal cellular device was seized, and search warrant was issued. Evidence found on the device shows he was sexually grooming a minor and in possession of child pornography.
Tollett was arrested by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department and released on $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on November 15.
In 2016, Tollett was charged with felony sexual assault for sexually assaulting a prisoner at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office on multiple occasions while he was a jailer. He later negotiated a plea of misdemeanor Impairing Operation of Vital Public Facility. Since then, Tollett had obtained employment as a jailer in Newton County and had recently obtained employment at the Alpena Police Department where he was intended to be a law enforcement officer.
