
Boone County Library will host a viewing of the April 8 eclipse.
Terri Register from the library appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Thursday to talk about it. While county offices will close for the day, Register said Eclipse on the Street will happen. The event has a lot in store.
Attendees can enjoy face painting, vendors, food trucks and more. Kids can enjoy Bingo, and there's also a mini planetarium. "We're just going to have a great day. It's going to be wonderful," Register said. Participants are encouraged to bring chairs.
The street will be blocked. The library still has viewing glasses available. National Library Week is next week.
Register said guests are welcome to bring space-themed clothes to the library on April 8. On April 9, guests should wear tye-dye. Wednesday is a pajama day at the library.
On April 11, sports team attire is the theme. April 12 is book character day, so attendees should dress as their favorite character.
April 13 is book t-shirt day. Something else will happen from April 11 through April 13.
The Friends of the Library book sale will run through those days. The adult department also has things in store.
On April 9, adults can enjoy a farmhouse books activity. On April 16, adults can play Bingo to win books.
Anyone wanting to learn video editing has an opportunity to do so. Someone will come to the library to teach video editing on April 18 and April 25. Attendees will learn how to transfer videos from their cell phones to their computers.
Pressed flower lanterns are the focus of the library on April 23. It involves glass jars.
Marble clay pots are the focus of April 30. Signup is needed for the lanterns and pots.
