Boone County Library Activities for the Summer

The Boone County Library always has monthly activities, and this month is no different.

Terri Register and Amy Griffith from the library appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Thursday to discuss this month. The summer reading program is about to kick off. Griffith said registration for the program opened last week and will close on Saturday. She added that the library's children's program has an activity every day but Friday for June and July.

The children's program is for anyone 18 and under. Griffith noted that one doesn't need to participate in the summer reading program to attend the activities. Snowcones will launch the program on Monday. Adventure movie trivia is on Tuesday.

That's not all. On Wednesday, it's time for Smores trail mix. Camping lantern-making is on Thursday.

Griffith said about 370 children are registered for the summer reading program. She later added that the library will host a teen day on Tuesdays at 2 p.m.

Later, she revealed that Marty the Magician will come on June 24 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Register talked about the adult program.

On June 13, adults can make water candles. There's a picnic food class on June 18 at 5:30 p.m.

On June 25, the Boone County Master Gardeners will talk about flower arrangements. On June 27, there's a class on making salad dressing.

Register said the library will close all day on June 7. More was discussed on the broadcast.

The full interview with Griffith and Register is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
