Boil Water Orders Remain in Effect for Several Systems

The Arkansas Department of Health reports several Boil Water Orders remain in effect for the region.

A boil order was issued earlier this week for a portion of the Southwest Boone County Water Association in Boone and Newton counties. The order affects customers along Arkansas Highway 43 South between the wellhouse and the Harrison city limits and includes all side roads in the area. The order was issued due to a water line break.

Another boil order went into effect this week for a portion of Compton Waterworks in Newton County. The order affects the north side of the system beginning from the Compton water tank. The order was issued due to a construction-related water line break.

Finally, part of the West Stone County Water Association which covers part of Searcy County was put under a boil order due to a water line break. This affects customers in the eastern have of the association between Mountain View and Timbo.

All affected customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption, and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use.
