The body of a drowning victim last week on Bull Shoals Lake has been positively identified as a Texas woman.
The body of 80-year-old Sharon Rose Harris of Rowlett was identified by a family member as the investigation into her death continues.
According to Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander, deputies were called to the Welcome Ridge boat launch in the northern part of the county around 1 Thursday afternoon after area residents found Harris’s body floating just offshore in the lake. During the investigation, a vehicle linked to Harris was located at the boat launch area. Investigators took a missing persons report Thursday evening for a white female who had traveled to the Welcome Ridge area from out of state but had not been heard from since last Wednesday.
The Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock is continuing its work to determine the cause and manner of Harris's death.
