One person sustains serious injuries after a boat explodes after fueling up at a marina on Table Rock Lake.
According to the report filed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident happened Saturday afternoon at Indian Point Marina when a boat had fueled up, then exploded when the driver attempted to start it.
The driver, a 50-year-old man from Nixa, was not injured in the explosion however a 74-year-old woman from Springfield did sustain serous injuries and was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment. A third person, an 18-year-old woman from Branson, standing near the boat was reported to suffer minor injuries and was taken by a private vehicle to an area urgent care.
The explosion and fire is under investigation by the Missouri State Fire Marshall according to the Highway Patrol Report.
