A Crittenden County man is being held in the Marion County Law Enforcement Center after a mother reported her 14-year-old daughter missing last Tuesday.
According to the probable cause affidavit, 19-year-old Shamar Tipton of Marion has been charged with a felony count of sexual indecency with a child.
The mother told authorities her daughter had been talking on the internet with a male, later identified as Tipton. The mother also said her daughter had told her she and Tipton had had sexual intercourse.
On Wednesday, Tipton advised the 14-year-old’s family he would be returning the teen that evening. Shortly after dispatch advised the teen had returned home, law enforcement conducted a traffic stop and detained Tipton for questioning.
In an interview with law enforcement, Tipton reportedly admitted to having sexual intercourse with the teen. His bond has been set at $10,000.
