Arkansas to Temporarily Issue Duplicate Driver's Licenses Online Only

The demand for Real ID's in Arkansas has led to the Department of Finance and Administration to change procedures for the near future.

The full release below is from the Arkansas DFA:

The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) announces a temporary change to issuance of duplicate driver’s licenses beginning May 12. If Arkansans need a duplicate (replacement) license starting this week, it can be ordered online and will be placed in the mail by DFA. This will allow state Revenue Offices to focus on REAL ID, with record numbers issued. New, first-time licenses may still be obtained at any Revenue Office. Renewals will also continue normally for licenses and IDs within 90 days of expiration, which has been the renewal policy for years.

DFA is issued approximately 10,000 REAL IDs a day last week. More than 132,000 were issued between April 1, 2025 and early May.

DFA’s focus this week is ensuring those with immediate travel plans have access to REAL ID. DFA will continue to issue the REAL ID at the state’s 134 Revenue Offices.
