
The Marion County Sheriff's Department helps sponsor a training course involving several other agencies.

Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports that the Marion County Sheriff's Office and the 14th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney's Office recently sponsored a three (3) day crime scene training course to area law enforcement agencies on the campus of Arkansas State University Mountain Home. Sheriff Alexander advised the training was taught by Agents with the FBI Evidence Response Team (ERT) and focused on evidence collection and documentation, crime scene photography, forensic techniques involving latent fingerprints, impressions, and the use of alternate light sources. The training was attended by twenty-eight (28) officers from area agencies that included eleven (11) deputies from the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff Alexander advised the deputies from Marion County included those assigned to the Detention Center, Patrol Division, and the Criminal Investigation Division.
Other area agencies attending the training included the Bull Shoals Police Department, Cotter Police Department, Lakeview Police Department, Baxter County Sheriff's Department, Boone County Sheriff's Department, Independence County Sheriff's Department, Harrison Police Department, Morrilton Police Department, Jonesboro Police Department, Mansfield Police Department, and the Arkansas State Police.
