Area Communities Benefit from Arkansas Rural Grants

An announcement made in August will help several area communities through grants.

Overall, 33 communities in the state were awarded Rural Service Grants from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission’s Division of Rural Services according to a release from Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders. 

The release says grants totaling over $344,700 were awarded in the latest cycle. 

In a separate release, the Northwest Arkansas Economic Development District announced that they aided in getting several communities grants. 

Grant recipients include the City of Yellville for over $6,000 with the Leslie Volunteer Fire Department being granted over $13,000. 

The Cotter-Gassville and Huntsville Fire Departments were also awarded money according to the release from the governor's office which can be found here.
