An archery event and outdoor expo takes place this weekend presented by the City of Harrison, Creekside Amp, and the Valley Springs School District.
In a recent interview on KHOZ's Around the Table Program, Harrison Parks Director Chuck Eddington and Dakota Akers from The Hunting Legacy talked about how the event came to be. Akers say he was trying to figure out how to do an event that would further The Hunting Legacy's mission of getting younger people involved in the outdoors through an archery tournament while at the same time, Eddington had been talking with Arkansas Game and Fish about organizing a major archery event at Creekside. The two visited and decided to combine their efforts and worked with Valley Springs School to set-up a high school qualifying tournament.
Akers added that there will be an expo with 30 plus vendors plus a 3-D Tournament that the general public can enter.
The event is Saturday at the Creekside Community Center with admission for kids free and adult admission $5.
