North Arkansas College continues to provide opportunities for adults to gain a General Education Diploma as well as sharpen skills in several education areas.
Assistant Director of Adult Education Amy Roberts, during a recent interview on New Country's "Livin' Life with Lisa" program, talks about the three areas of focus for the programs including GED as well as English As a Second Language and Citizenship Classes.
Roberts adds that the GED Classes are available for Arkansas residents ages 16 and up and is available at all of the center\s around the region while the English classes are focused on citizens from Carroll and Madison Counties to learn English for communication in everyday situations. The Citizenship Classes are designed for 18 and over that are permanent residents to complete the Citizenship Application and help with the Civics Test that is part of the process.
Ross adds that Digital Literacy and Work Place Skills are also part of these programs.
North Arkansas has six sites overall that helps cover area of Boone, Carroll, Madison, Newton, and Searcy Counties.
