William Joseph Johnson, age 59, of Branson, Missouri.
William Joseph Johnson, age 59, of Branson, Missouri, passed away February 16, 2022, at home with family at his bedside, after a long battle with ALS. He entered this life August 17, 1962, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of Isaac and Donna (Dunn) Johnson. His father has preceded him in death. He was joined in marriage October 30, 2009, to Jolene Gay Osborn.
As a beloved man, Billy was known as a storyteller, spinning yarns about event of his childhood and beyond. He loved meeting people and talking to them about anything. Stranger was not a word in his vocabulary. Billy was a hard worker, a fisherman, and an outdoor enthusiast. The love he shared and the stories he told will bring fond memories for years to come.
Billy is survived by his wife of 13 years, Jolene Johnson; mother, Donna (Edward) DeJaynes of Abingdon, Illinois; two daughters: Shannon Behrends and Jamie Behrends both of Nebraska City, Nebraska; six grandchildren: Kirsten, Schyler, Gabby, Alexa, Dakota, and Macie; two great-grandchildren: Avery and Chandler; sister, Tracy Johnson of Henderson, Illinois; two brothers: Josh (Tara) DeJaynes of Abingdon, Illinois and Chuck DeJaynes of Galesburg, Illinois; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
No formal services are currently planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Billy’s name to the Jared Clinic (www.als.org) in Springfield, Missouri.
