William Glunt, born on February 15, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away on April 13, 2026, in Walnut Shade, Missouri, surrounded by the legacy of his life marked by faith, devotion, and kindness.
He was the beloved son of the late William and Katherine (Baluk) Glunt. William grew up and attended school in Dearborn, Michigan, and later pursued higher education at Wayne State University. His early years laid the foundation for a life defined by steady purpose, strong values, and a spirit that touched many lives.
William spent much of his working years in San Diego, California, where he served as an aeronautics engineer in the Space Program. He took great pride in his work and was part of an era of remarkable achievement and innovation.
Faith was very important to William. He was a Christian and a faithful member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. He was also involved in the Charismatic Movement through his faith in God, and he found strength and comfort in his spiritual life. William would like to be remembered for his service as a member of the Knights of Columbus and for the sincerity with which he lived his beliefs.
William’s greatest joy was his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan, whom he affectionately called “Blue Eyes,” the love of his life. They shared sixty-seven years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his son Michael and a grandchild, Aiden. He is survived by his son Bill Glunt, his daughter Linda Falconer and her husband Pete, and his cherished grandchildren Peter, Michael, Christina, Thadeius, and Tristan.
He loved his grandchildren deeply and found great happiness in spending time with them, especially when he could share the knowledge and craft of chess with them, and he enjoyed splitting time watching the Star Wars series or the Jim Bakker Show. He also took great satisfaction in sharpening his woodworking skills and building various projects in his shop.
Services for William will be Wednesday, April 29, 2026. Rosary will be in the funeral home at 9:00 am with funeral mass to follow at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Interment will be in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.
