Walter Donald Finch, age 88, of Cassville, Missouri passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Cassville Health Care and Rehabilitation in Cassville, Missouri.
He was born February 24, 1933 in Butler, Missouri, the son of Warren and Nellie (Kerns) Finch. On September 15, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri he was united in marriage to Vida Johnson, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Warren Finch and his wife Nina of Garfield, Arkansas; one daughter, Carmen Finch of Cassville, Missouri; three grandchildren Ronnie, Christy and Joe and six great grandchildren, Jared, Nathan, Xavier, Wriley, Cailyn and AnnLynn.
Preceding him in death were his parents; all of his siblings and one son, Steve Finch.
Walter grew up in Utah and California. After school he joined the United States Navy Seabees and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a master carpenter and worked in many forms of construction. In 2004 they moved to Cassville from central Arkansas and Cassville immediately became their home. He and Vida were happily married for sixty-five years. Wood working was a favorite pastime and he was an early American History buff.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December, 15, 2021 at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Garfield, Arkansas, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Lowell Sartin will conduct the services.
