Sylvia Woods, loving mom to Daniel Woods, Robert Woods, Nancy Kramer and Edith Shrum; adored sister of Daniella Walker, Carol Sharon Walker and Pauline Walker and cherished grandmother to 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren passed away on February 5, 2022 in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 83.
Sylvia Woods, loving mom to Daniel Woods, Robert Woods, Nancy Kramer and Edith Shrum; adored sister of Daniella Walker, Carol Sharon Walker and Pauline Walker and cherished grandmother to 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren passed away on February 5, 2022 in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 82.
Sylvia was born to Edison & Myrtle (Martin) Walker on December 13, 1939 in Quincy, IL. She married Francis Woods, Sr. on January 28, 1967 in Quincy. They were blessed with five children and Sylvia was a beautiful and caring wife and mother. She moved to southwest Missouri from Granite City, IL eighteen years ago. She had a huge heart for helping others which showed through her work with the Senior Center and Meals on Wheels in Taney County.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; husband Francis; son, Francis Woods, Jr; brothers, Daniel, Kenshaw, Perry and Joseph Walker and sisters, Maybelle and Margaret Walker and Edith Griffin.
Sylvia’s family will hold private services at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.
