Robert “Bob” Allen Kimbrell, age 83, passed away on January 16, 2026.

Robert “Bob” Allen Kimbrell passed away on January 16, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, after a long illness. He was born in Orlando, Florida, on September 27, 1942, to Sterling Allen Kimbrell and Bernice Louise Durant. The family subsequently moved to Metropolis, Illinois, where Bob graduated from Metropolis High School.

He completed barber school and cut hair until he was drafted into the Army, which sent him to Korea. After Bob’s active duty, he decided to take up welding and moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he began his career in construction. He eventually became a pile driver foreman and worked on many of the buildings in downtown Chicago and many locations around the city. In 1967, Bob met and married Linda Lois Sines and they had four children: Jeffrey, Laurie, David, and Michael. Upon retirement, he built a home overlooking Table Rock Lake in Missouri.
Bob was liked and respected by all who knew him, including his coworkers, neighbors and many friends. He was kind, generous and had a great sense of humor and could always be counted on to give a helping hand.

Bob attended meetings at the Southern Hills Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where he enjoyed regular bible study, meetings, and fellowship with others of like faith. He is predeceased by his parents; son, Jeffrey; and daughter, Laurie. Bob is survived by Linda Kimbrell of Morrisville, Missouri, and sons: David of Morrisville, Missouri, and Michael of Pacific, Missouri; two sisters: Carol Brinker of Paducah, Kentucky, and Sandra Giltner of Hopkinsville, Kentucky; as well as two grandsons: Joseph and Jaxson Kimbrell.
