Melvin Lee Massey, age 80, of Reeds Spring, Missouri
Melvin Lee Massey, age 80, of Reeds Spring, Missouri, passed away April 17, 2022, in Springfield, Missouri. He entered this life September 9, 1941, in Warsaw, Missouri, the son of Lon and Flora (Gregory) Massey. Melvin is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Thelma Massey; sister, Helen Logan; and two brothers: Allen Massey and Ronald Massey.
As a businessman, Melvin owned and operated his own trash collection company for more than eight years. He enjoyed farming, work, and reading. Melvin worked eighteen years in the department of agriculture in Washington D.C. and was awarded the “plow award” for his efforts. He will be missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.
Melvin is survived by his wife of 32 years, Bernice Massey; two sons, Micky Massey of Florida and Tony Massey of Clinton, Missouri; daughter, Melinda Massey of Sedalia, Missouri; several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; sister, Alma Vogel of Warsaw, Missouri; and brother, Lou Massey of Warsaw, Missouri.
