Larry Allan Carman, 80, passed away on September 16, 2025.
Larry Allan Carman, cherished husband, father, grandfather and respected veteran, passed away on September 16, 2025, at the age of 80 in Blue Eye, Missouri.
Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on June 21, 1945, Larry was one of two children born to Robert & Nancy Carman who predecease him along with his sister, Sharon. He attended elementary school in Tulsa and graduated from Yamato High School in Japan, later furthering his education at Arizona State University in Flagstaff.
Larry answered the call of duty, serving with honor in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. As a part of the Chinook helicopter crew, Larry operated a 60-caliber machine gun, a role that showcased his bravery and commitment. His dedication to service continued beyond his military career into his professional life where he worked with Southern Bell, AT&T, and Bell South in Memphis, Tennessee, and eventually in Communications Technology for Missouri State University.
Away from his professional life, Larry was a devoted husband to his wife Joyce, a loving father to his sons Chet, married to Amy, and Seth, married to Carissa, and an adored grandfather to Owen, Neil, Henley, Shelby, and Case. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he delighted in every moment spent with them.
Larry's hobbies included his enjoyment of cars and boats and having a green thumb. He was a man of faith and dedicated church member at Closer Walk Church in Ridgedale. Larry's faith was evident in how he lived and loved those around him. He was always quick to lend a helping hand. He was easy to talk to and if you spoke with him for five minutes it felt like you had known him for years. He also had a great sense of humor and was always ready to crack a joke. His absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew him.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be announced to be held in Broken Arrow, OK. Cremation arrangements are in the care of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.
