Joseph Ford, 86 of Hollister
Services for Joseph Ford, 86 of Hollister, will be Tuesday, March 8, 2022. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 12:30 PM in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson with the funeral service beginning at 12:30 PM. Graveside services with military honors will be at 2:00 PM at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
Joseph Sterling Ford was born June 28, 1935 in Sedalia, Missouri to Sterling Ford and Mildred (Wood) Ford. He was a retired Sergeant Major in the United States Marine Corps, served two tours in Vietnam and a member of the VFW.
Joseph was married to his beloved wife Kazuko “Kay” Ford on January 19, 1956 in Yokohama, Japan. They shared a wonderful life together raising their sons and seeing the world. Joseph enjoyed the company of his family and friends, fishing and watching wildlife especially the white squirrels that visited his yard and native birds. He was a member of Forsyth Christian Church.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, wife Kay and sister Virginia Wood.
He is survived by his sons, Timothy Ford (Dorothy) of Hollister and Peter Ford (Stacey) of Hollister; brothers, Ralph Ford (Sandra) of Kansas City, MO, Steven Ford (Ann) of Lenexa, KS, Chuck Ford (Angie) of Overland Park, KS; sisters, Nancy Riggs (Homer) of Kansas City, MO and Susie Holmes (Chris) of Lihue, HI. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He leaves a legacy of love, leadership and intentionality and will be greatly missed till we see him again.
