Joan Joyce Chapin, age 88, of Kirbyville, MO
Joan Joyce Chapin, age 88, of Kirbyville, Missouri, passed away August 2, 2021, in Branson, Missouri. She entered this life in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of William and Anna Mae (Curtis) Richards. Preceding her in death are her parents and her husband, Francis Chapin.
With athleticism in her younger years, Joan traveled across the Midwest in a bowling league as well as on a fastpitch softball team, playing the position of catcher. When family came along, she chose the things most important to invest her time in her husband and daughter, creating treasured memories. Joan was a devoted wife and mother similar to the 50s way of life, putting family before everything else. She did participate as a member of the Sweet Adelines International singing group. Her love and devotion have made an impact on many lives and left “big shoes” to fill for those she loved.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Melissa Bell of Kirbyville, Missouri, and a host of friends who will keep her memories alive.
