James David Bennett, age 84, of Blue Eye, Missouri.
James David Bennett, age 84, of Blue Eye, Missouri, passed away April 11, 2025, at home with family nearby. He entered this life April 10, 1941, in Mountainair, New Mexico, the son of Laurie and Clara (Lee) Bennett. He was joined in marriage March 18, 2000, to Sheila Bennett.
David was an outgoing and personable man who never met a stranger. When you left him somewhere for a short time, there would be someone there talking to him when you returned. David was the “Hype” man for the Duck Boats and would have everyone ready for the ride as they boarded. It was said of him, “When David loved you, he used you as a show and tell when in public. He was proud to show you off to all who would listen. There was never a wonder if you were loved or not.” David was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a funny comedian and always a hugger. He will be dearly missed by all who met him.
David is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sheila Bennett; four sons: Ralph (Linda) Schultz of Omaha, Arkansas, David Fasick, Kevin Fasick, and Karl Fasick, all of Phillipsburg, Ohio; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025, at First Baptist Church, 100 Church St., Omaha, Arkansas, with Gene France officiating. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks. To leave an online condolence or a memory, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com.
