George L. Perry, cherished father, grandfather and proud veteran, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, in Lenexa, KS, at the age of 90. George was born on October 8, 1934, in Marceline, MO, to William & Artie Perry.
George enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951. His career as an aircraft jet mechanic and training command staff saw him stationed in landscapes across England, Okinawa, and the United States including Alaska, Texas, and Virginia culminating in a well-earned retirement from Grand Forks AFB in North Dakota in 1979 where he was the Training NCO for the 321st Strategic Missile Wing. After his military career, George worked for Westinghouse in Kansas City.
George enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—hunting, fishing, savoring chocolate, and sipping sweet tea.
He is survived by his son, Miles Perry, and daughter-in-law Karen of Independence, MO; his grandchildren, Justin, Damien, Amanda (married to Craig), Kaleb, Samantha, Savannah, Alex, Allison, and Connor; along with ten great-grandchildren.
George was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nina Perry; and sister Gertrude Keister.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 19, 2025 in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson. Visitation will begin at 12:30 pm with funeral services following at 1:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lewallen Cemetery, Branson with funeral military detail and honors by Whiteman Air Force Base.
