Donald “Don” Wayne Young, 82, of Omaha, Arkansas.

Donald “Don” Wayne Young, 82, of Omaha, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, at his home. He was born on December 14, 1943, in Omaha, Arkansas, the son of Evertt and Froney (Barnes) Young.

Don was a lifelong resident of Omaha, Arkansas, where he built a life rooted in hard work, family, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He proudly served his country as a mechanic in the military until 1963 and continued his work as a mechanic throughout his life. Don retired from the Omaha School District in 2009. He was a man who found joy in the simple things. Don loved fishing, camping, and hunting with his family. More than anything, he cherished time spent with his wife of 62 years, Maxine, lovingly known to him as “Mac”. Whether they were just sitting on the porch or taking long drives, they just loved enjoying each other’s company.

Don is preceded in death by his parents Everett and Froney (Barnes) Young, his brother Darrell Young, and his sister Janice (Young) Landers.

He is survived by his wife Maxine (Poor) Young, his two sons Eugene (wife Hope) and Harold Young, his daughter Sandy Young, and his grandchildren Megan, Zach, Dalton, Brandon, Jessica, Hannah and Kenneth. Don also was blessed with 19 great grandchildren who brought him great joy.

Don will be missed dearly by all that knew and loved him.

A graveside service is planned for Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 3:00PM located at the Omaha Methodist Cemetery in Omaha, Arkansas, with Pastor Kerry Liggett from Legacy Hospice and Pastor Johnny Atchison from Emmanuel Baptist Church.
