Dechert “Deck” William Sharpell, age 61, of Shell Knob, Missouri
Dechert “Deck” William Sharpell, age 61, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away January 22, 2023. He entered this life August 27, 1961, the son of Howard and Virginia (Thomson) Sharpell in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Deck was joined in marriage to Kara Laine Warble on April 10, 1993.
With a passion for the wilderness, Deck loved being in the great outdoors, fishing, hunting, spending time on his boat, and working on cars. He could be found on Sundays watching football and cheering on his favorite team, The Chargers. Deck was the business owner and operator of Kitchen Solvers of Kansas City. He had an enthusiasm for learning and enjoyed sharing his knowledge, experiences, and life lessons with others. Deck’s love and memories created over the years will be cherished greatly by those who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth William Sharpell.
Deck is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Kara Laine Sharpell of Shell Knob, Missouri; daughter, Kayli Rose Schou of Saint Charles, Missouri; son, Ty Dechert Sharpell of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; brother, Robert William Sharpell of San Marcos, California; dog, Sophie; as well as extended family members and many friends made throughout his lifetime.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday March 25, 2023, at The Indian Hills Resort in Shell Knob, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to The Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation (mochf.org). Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
