Alyssa Jade O’Neill Tawes, age 39.
Born in Blytheville, Arkansas to Debra and Charles O’Neill. Died March 20, 2026, in Springfield, Missouri.
Alyssa was an artist and published author of two books of poetry under the pseudonym, A. J. Macabre. She received her second-degree black belt in Taekwondo before the age of 16. A world traveler, having hiked and backpacked many trails in the US and other countries with her parents. She was a rockhound and loved all cats. She loved her family and friends dearly.
Preceded in death by her father, Charles O’Neill.
Survived by her three children: Latimer, Liam and Esper; husband, Josh Tawes; mother, Debra O’Neill; sister, Cindy (Steve) Long; as well as grandmother, aunts, uncles and cousins in the US, UK, and Australia.
No formal services are planned at this time. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
