Alva Jewell Green, age 73, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away May 31, 2025, in Niangua, Missouri. She entered this life November 7, 1951, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Earl and Loretta (Speaks) Himes.
As a young woman, Alva was a giving person who was always helping others, working as a nurse’s aide, beautician, and a heavy equipment operator for the city of Edmond. She volunteered her time at the Red Cross at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Having an adventurous spirit, Alva loved the outdoors while camping, canoeing, and rodeos. She had many talents and has done it all living life to the fullest. Most importantly, Alva loved her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and cherished her.
Alva is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marion Green Sr.; her son, Marion Ronnie Green Jr.; two sisters: Carol Jean Olson and Kathy Dehart; and her two brothers: Chris D. Himes and Elmer “Tuffy” Himes.
She is survived by two daughters: Ruth Green and husband Jacob of Merriam Woods, Missouri, and Julia Vrooman and husband Garrett of Salado, Texas; her grandchildren: Ashley Green, Brittany Vrooman, Emaly Vrooman, Brett Bennett, Kendall Seidel, Breanna Shackleford, and Cody Diggan; great-grandchildren: Gabbie, Kylie, Brooke, Saige, Delaney, Machai, Brandon, Kylynn, and Tricity; great-great-grandson, Bane; and two brothers: Earl “Smokey” Himes of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Audrey Himes of Merriam Woods, Missouri.
