Alfredo D. “Fred” Moreno, age 71, of Purdy, MO

Alfredo D. “Fred” Moreno, age 71, of Purdy, Missouri passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Cassville Health and Rehab in Cassville, Missouri.

He was born October 19, 1949 in Long Beach, California the son of Guillermo and Petra (Montelongo) Moreno, who preceded him in death.  Also preceding him in death were six brothers and sisters, Willy, Joe, Mary, Robert, Juan and Martha.

Surviving are one son, Steven Moreno of Orangevale, California; one daughter, Natalee Moreno of Pilot Point, Texas; siblings, Eleanor, Rick, Jesus, Raymond, Pete, Manual and Fran; three grandchildren; one great grandchild and good friend, Gene Adams of Purdy, Missouri.

Fred grew up in California and graduated from Wilson High School in Long Beach.  For four years he served in the United States Army and then returned to Long Beach and attended Long Beach City College.  In 1991 he moved to Missouri and worked at the Mount Vernon VA Hospital and was later transferred back to Long Beach to work at the VA Hospital there.  In 1998 he returned to Missouri to make his home.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Butterfield, Missouri under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.  Reverend Russ Neill will conduct the services.
