Joy Ellis Grable, 94 of Hollister.
Joy Ellis Grable, 94 of Hollister, entered into Heaven on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield.
Joy was born September 21, 1930 in Agency, MO. He was the son of James Lewis Grable and Bessie Mae Grable. He graduated from Agency High School in 1948. On August 7, 1951, Joy entered the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on May 6, 1953. Upon returning home, Joy married Lois Marie Smith on June 4, 1953 in Hollister.
Joy was saved in 1962, beginning his faithful walk with Christ. He was a founding member of Friendly Baptist Church, serving in many capacities there and he loved his church family.
He combined his occupation as a construction operating engineer and his dedication to sharing the gospel by helping to construct other churches as well.
Joy was preceded in death by his parents, James & Bessie Grable; his wife, Lois Grable; and siblings, Rena, Lee, Dorothy, George, Maude, Nadine, William, Gloria Mae and Jim.
He will be deeply missed by his children, Linda Cate and husband David, Bill Grable and Ed Grable; grandchildren, John, Josh, Danny and Cindy; great grandchildren, Jordan, Preston, Keira, Gabriella, Graham and Greta; and great-great grandchildren, Lakyn and Criek.
A celebration of Joy’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Friendly Baptist Church, 2751 Kirkland Dr., Branson, MO 65616. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Army.
