Utah Woman Killed in Motorcycle Crash Near Cape Fair

A woman from Utah dies after a motorcycle she was a passenger on leaves the roadway on Highway 76 east of Cape Fair.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred during the Noon hour Saturday when the motorcycle driven by 72-year-old Douglas Weidaur failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the road striking some large rocks and overturning. 69-year-old Susan Weidauer died as a result of the crash while Douglas Weidauer was taken to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment of moderate injuries.

The fatality is the 109th in traffic accidents worked by Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 2022.
