Two people die in a vehicle crash and fire in Stone County Saturday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash took place on Highway 413 south of Galena when a vehicle driven by 84-year-old Kenneth Runge of Kimberling City failed to negotiate a curve and went off the left side of the ride striking a tree then catching fire. Runge and a passenger in the vehicle, 80-year-old Sharon Runge, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The report says that these are the 81st and 82nd fatalities in traffic crashes worked by the Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 2022.
