Two men remain in the Searcy County Jail after an incident in April which led to their arrest on gun and drug charges.
49-year-old Andrew Wayne Frasure of Marshall and 63-year-old Eddie Eugene Wyatt of Conway are facing multiple charges for the theft of guns, being felons in possession of guns and having a controlled substance.
According to the probable cause affidavit submitted by the Searcy County Sheriff’s Office, officers were responding to a call of a burglary in progress. The officers were notified on their way to the scene that two people had left the scene and the officers eventually tracked them down. While searching the vehicle, officers found the suspects with the weapons and methamphetamine. One officer became ill when inspecting one of the bottles after residue flew on him.
One of the owners of the home who had just recently inherited the property from her father who had passed away said that they had found the two men in the house when they arrived and one of the suspects said that the deceased owner had been holding guns for him since he was a felon and he came to claim then after he died. The owner asked the two men to leave after which they discovered some of the guns missing.
Officers found a total of 16 firearms, a pellet gun and two bags containing ammunition and firearm accessories in the suspect's vehicle.
Frasure and Wyatt are facing over three dozen charges combined and both are being held without bond in the Searcy County Jail.
