Tornado Damage News from Marion County

News from the tornado damage and relief efforts in Marion County includes the release of the name of a child killed during Sunday’s storms. 

The Yellville-Summit School District announced via Facebook that one of their students, sixth-grader James Duncan, was one of the three individuals in Marion County who died in the tornado that moved through the area early Sunday morning. The post also provides information on an account that has been set-up at Arvest Bank to help the Duncan Family. 

Marion County Emergency Management Director Melissa Penn also posted online that Yellville-Summit Schools have opened up their Locker Room Showers for public use this week and will again this afternoon from Noon until 4:00. Penn also states the American Red Cross will continue working out of the Marion County Fairgrounds at least through today. A dedicated phone line is available for requests for assistance and volunteers to sign up at 870-449-7567.
