The Newton County Homecoming Shindig is coming up, according to Toinette Madison.
Madison appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Wednesday to talk about the event. It's a two-day long event this year with a musical lineup, barn dance and more. It will run from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sept. 27, but the dance will go until 9 p.m. On Sept. 28, it will kick off at 10 a.m.
The event started during the 150th anniversary of the county. This is the third year of the shindig. Madison said the event continues to grow.
This third year will see soap makers, basket makers, cheese makers and more. Madison vendors are still accepted and can register by making contact on Facebook. More was discussed on the broadcast.
The full interview with Madison is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
