Study shows ranking of safest Missouri, Arkansas cities

Safety is a major concern for cities across the United States, with events occurring every day, including public health crises, natural disasters, mass shootings, traffic accidents, and other threats. A new study from WalletHub has showcased its ranking of the safest cities in the U.S. for 2025.

WalletHub has released its ranking of the safest 180 cities across the U.S. based on 41 key indicators of safety. Some of the indicators include traffic fatalities per capita, assaults per capita, unemployment rate and the percentage of the population that is uninsured.

The study ranks three cities in Missouri, with Springfield at 118, Kansas City at 145, and St. Louis at 157. 

Two cities were ranked in Arkansas with Fort Smith ranking 101 and Little Rock 164.
