The recovery from the round of Severe Thunderstorms that swept through the region late Sunday night and early Monday morning continues.
White River Valley Electric made progress on restoring power to customers in three counties Monday. As of this morning, just over 2000 White River Customers remain without power including 811 in Taney County and 59 in Stone County. The remaining White River outages are in Christian County.
Entergy in northern Arkansas still has scattered outages in Boone, Marion, and Searcy counties. p
The power outages forced several area businesses to close on Monday and a few may remain closed today until power is restored.
Some area roads remain closed as clean-up of trees and other debris on roadways continue. Reports continue to be updated with several areas reporting trees having fallen into houses and on vehicles.
The clean-up continues today as high humidity will keep conditions hot. A Heat Advisory is in effect for all of the region today and Wednesday with potential Heat Index Readings approaching 110.
