A 34-year-old Cape Fair man was killed Friday evening in a motorcycle crash near Cape Fair, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 7:15 p.m. on Highway 76 when the man, operating a motorcycle, failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the roadway. The motorcycle struck a ditch and overturned, the patrol reported.
According to the crash report, the rider was not wearing a safety device at the time of the accident.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by Stone County Assistant Coroner Jerry Jenkins.
The fatal crash marks the 84th traffic-related death investigated by Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 2026.
