Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders declares a State of Emergency after severe thunderstorms caused damage and knockout power to several thousand customers late Friday into Saturday.
According to the proclamation issued on the Governor's Website, the order allows needed emergency response vehicles to get to bypass the State's Weight Stations through August 31 to get supplies needed to areas impacted by the storms.
Both Carroll Electric Cooperative and Entergy had large areas without power for a few hours including the downtown Harrison area. Most power was restored in the Lakes Region by Saturday afternoon.
