A foot of snow falls in parts of the Lakes Region on Saturday.

Reports to the National Weather Service indicate areas around Harrison saw 12 inches of snow by the end of the day Saturday while reports from Canaan, Lead Hill, Marshall, and Pindall all showed 10 plus inches of snow.

Other areas around the Arkansas-Missouri Boarder saw 6-8 inches of snow including Omaha, Ridgedale with areas around Branson and Branson West also seeing snow in the range of 6-8 inches.

Temperatures were at or just above freezing during most of the snowfall which prevent freezing on many roads, though travel conditions were hazardous during the snowfall. A portion of Highway 65 in Searcy County was closed for a time due to the snowfall according to Searcy County Sheriff Kenny Cassell. A tractor trailer truck also overturns on Missouri Highway 39 southeast of Shell Knob blocking that road for a time Saturday.

Several major roads in both Arkansas and Missouri are reported as clear though several roads in Arkansas still has some icy and slushy patches Sunday morning. Many secondary roads are covered.

Sunny conditions with temperatures in the upper 30's are expected during the day Sunday with temperatures back in the 40's Monday.
