The heavy rain that moved through the Lakes Region late Friday night and early Saturday morning brought some much needed precipitation to the region and also lessened the wildfire risk.
According to a map posted the Arkansas Department of Agriculture, all counties in the Lakes Region with the exception of Madison and Searcy Counties have lifted their burn bans. The map indicates that the Wildfire Danger has also been lowered to moderate in all area counties.
The rain plus lower temperatures have reduced the fire risk, though gusty winds are coming back into the area as the week progresses in advance of another front that could bring in more rain.
