Several local rural service programs received grants from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission’s Division of Rural Services, which invests in small towns across the state.
The funding will be used to fund projects such as fire trucks, fire protection equipment, community centers, storm sirens, community parks, walking trails, and baseball fields.
Some of the area local grants include over $6500 for the Huntsville Fire Department and over $6000 to the City of Yellville. The largest amount in the area is going to the Leslie Volunteer Fire Department in Searcy County, receiving over $13,700 according to the release from the state.
The full release can be found on the KTLO Website.
