The minor driver of a pickup truck was killed in a one-vehicle accident Tuesday evening in Searcy County.
While the report from the Arkansas State Police did not identify the driver due to his age, KTLO reports through the Harrison Daily Times that Marshall High School officials say the driver was 16-year-old Jackson Harness, a student at the school.
Officials told the Times they had members of a church, the youth pastor and his wife on campus Wednesday for students who needed counseling. They also said extra counselors were available as well.
ASP reports the crash occurred when the truck left the roadway and struck a tree on State Highway 333 near County Road 37 at Marshall.
The ASP reports the weather was clear and the road was dry at the time of the 9:20 p.m. accident.
