Search Continues for Missing Gassville Teen

Authorities are continuing their efforts to locate a Gassville teen, over three weeks after 15-year-old Haley Shell was reported missing.

Captain Everett Uchtman with the Gassville Police Department tells KTLO that every area law enforcement agency is working on the case of the missing teen.

An incident report from the Gassville Police Department earlier this month notes Shell took out the trash at her home around 8 on the evening of Oct. 1. She was seen by her brother running from the dumpster at the end of Arrowhead Drive into the field behind the Brass Door Motel. At the time, she was wearing a black tank top and black sweat pants.

Law enforcement says Shell is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. She is fair skinned with freckles and has a cut on her lower right arm that is scabbed over.

On Monday, Captain Uchtman told KTLO, Class Hits and The Boot news video footage from a surveillance camera at the teen’s home shows her taking out the trash and continuing on.

He says this is not an abduction case. He says the teen left notes to several people. He also notes this is not the first time the teen has run away.

Uchtman says Shell’s cellphone was taken by a family member before her disappearance. He says through warrants, searches have been made of other electronic devices in an effort to locate the teen.

Uchtman is asking members of the public to contact law enforcement, if they have any information to aid in locating Shell. He says anyone with information about the case may make contact in whatever way he or she feels more comfortable. Contact may be made to 911, the Gassville Police Department at (870) 435-6439 or the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office at (870) 425-7000.
