A former candidate for the Republican 7th District Congressional Nomination talks about the state of politics for young people.
Audrey Richards sat down for an interview for an "At Your Service" podcast to talk about her recent campaign for the 7th District seat being vacated by Billy Long.
Richards shared her concerns for the Republican Party where it concerns young people and millennials and the issues that matter to them including student load debt. She feel likes the party gets stuck in a "we must agree on everything" mentality and there is no room for compromise or movement. Richards says she is not in line with some Republican positions but does support the basic principal of less government that is a foundation of the party.
Richards also says that young people in general, whether Democrat or Republican or Third-Party supporter, does not have access to the process because of a lack of time and money to be involved in the process and serve in government.
