A program is available through the state of Arkansas to assist residents with rental payments.
Gavin Lesnick from Arkansas Department of Human Services spoke with KHOZ’s Around The Table on Tuesday about rental assistance programs, which he says is for people who have suffered a loss of income or other financial hardship during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Lesnick says that people can qualify for the program based on income guidelines. He also said that the program has been designed so that unused money would be returned to the state but officials may look at revising that guideline and that input is being sought from both landlords and renters for the program.
Lesnick stated that to date, less than three percent of the available funds have been used
