An event to celebrate individuals overcoming substance addiction is this weekend.
The fourth annual Recovery Jamboree takes place on Saturday at the Sanctuary of Hope Church in Branson.
Marietta Hagan, Project Coordinator for Cox Health in Branson, says during a recent interview on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program that the idea to start the event came from Tammy McLaughlin who had just opened the Stone County Recovery Center. McLaughlin, who also was a part of the "Ozarks Now" interview, added that celebrating the accomplishments of those that have recovered and also encouraging others to take that step to begin their recovery journey.
The event will feature over 30 local agencies to discuss resources available pluis live music, a free lunch, and other activities.
The event will run from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Sanctuary of Hope Church on Bee Creek Road.
