The rain over the last week in the Lakes Region has slowed the rising drought levels according to the latest report from the U.S. Drought Monitor.
Released on Thursday, the report indicates areas around Branson and Kimberling City are back down to an Abnormally Dry Level with portions of Stone and Taney Counties and most of Barry County still at Moderate Drought. The east part of the Missouri Lakes region in Ozark County are no longer in drought according to the monitor’s report.
Meanwhile in Arkansas, areas around Berryville and Harrison remain at Moderate Levels while the surrounding areas are either Abnormally Dry or out of drought completely.
More rain is in the forecast for today with an extended dry and hot period to follow starting on Sunday.
